Every student who has passed through high school english at least know that Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegory for the Russian Revolution. But often it is hard to see which characters in the book coincide with the real people of the Russian Revolution.

Characters

Mr Jones is the equivalent of Tsar Nicholas. He was the symbol of the old hierarchy and was letting the farm fall into disarray. He was the symbol of everything the animals hated so they were easily manipulated into rebelling against him.

Mrs. Jones is the rough equivalent of Alexandra, the Tsar's wife. This is very rough though, seeing as the life of the Tsar's wife was focused mainly on the lives of her children and Jones' has no children.
