21 is a film which revolves around the art of "card counting". For those of you who don't know what "card counting" is, it is basically a way of getting a betting advantage when playing blackjack at a casino. Essentially it involves keeping a "count" of how rich the deck of cards is in certain types of cards. By having this information you can then plan your betting according to this to gain an advantage. For instance, when the decks are rich in face cards, aces and "10's", you could increase your bets, as there is a high chance of getting a value of "20" or a blackjack. The film is about a group of MIT students who are groomed into card counters by their mathematics professor. They use these newly developed skills to take on the casinos of Las Vegas. If you find the art of card counting interesting you must see this film. It stars Jim Sturgess, Kate Bosworth, Kevin Spacey and Laurence Fishburne.

The Wrestler

The Wrestler is a movie with a truly powerful message. It is about an aging wrestler who is finding it difficult to make ends meet in his older age. He still wrestles and has not given up on this sport where he was once a top performer. However he still has to work part time in factories and deli's to be able to make ends meet. At this older age he tries to make amends for certain voids in his life, such as pursuing a relationship with a love interest and also developing a relationship with his estranged daughter. The Wrestler is directed by Darren Aronofsky and stars Mickey Rourke, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood.
