“Would you be willing to play Russian roulette? You have only one out of six chances of being shot. You have five out of six chances of living,” said one of the messages sent to the Oscar-winning French star of La Vie en Rose, Marion Cotillard.
The 36-year-old brunette stopped looking at life through rose-tinted glasses last year after she received a series of threats via her online fan site.
The stalker who turned Cotillard's life into a nightmare turned out to be a New York City resident. According to the New York Post, Teresa Yuan was charged by a Brooklyn federal grand jury with five counts of transmitting threats to the famous actress.
Reports say Yuan was first arrested last July and charged with interstate stalking. She was then barred from using the Internet outside her home and ordered to stay away from the French star of Contagion, but violated the agreement.
Brooklyn federal prosecutors said Yuan recently emailed a video to Cotillard's fan site in which she suggested playing Russian Roulette.
She has been released on bail and is currently awaiting her next court date.
